A different thought

There are some instances in your life, which you can’t forget because on that day you comprehended some of the complexities around you, which bothered you for a long time. Today I will talk about one similar experience of mine, which changed the way I used to think about our mythologies; ceremonies and philosophies associated with any religion.

I grew up in a family where my mother used to tell me stories of our mythological characters such as Arjuna, Krishna and many more in greater details. When I grew up, I found myself in a constant debate about the existence of such characters, whether they exist it or not, and arguments against it were also making sense to my rational mind.
When I inquired further, complexities just increased.

It took me a greater deal of time and understanding of philosophy, academic courses and explanation of Mahabharata by one organization to understand the situation and that is what I will present to you today.

There was one chapter in the BIO course, which talked about emotions and moods of an individual. It talked about the dozens of basic emotions can be possible inside the human being starting from love, joy, anger, frustration, pride surprise and many more. Next chapter talked about the formation of personality in which emotions play a significant part. I want you to place this information somewhere back in your mind for some time.

Next, I will present an alternative explanation Mahabharata for two reasons. First, the size of army mentioned in the text was close to 100 crores and it was difficult to have such population in Kurukshetra alone. Second, Names of all the kaurvas started from “du”, means Duryodha, Dushashan, and Dushala which is highly unlikely. The names of all the characters also have a negative meaning, for example, Duryodhan means the one who uses wrong means to achieve something, Dushashan which means who rules not abiding by laws.

What if it was not an actual fight and it is something subtle. It might have to do something about us. Consider yourself and your body as a war field (Kurukshetra) and imagine there is a fight going on inside your body. There are 100 bad emotions such as hatred, jealousy, anger that is in a constant struggle with 5 good forces such as concentration, dharma, and commitment. Fit the emotion and personality part in this scenario. Then identify which emotion is prevailing at a certain point of time and which emotion has a greater effect on your personality. This fight goes on for years are we are struggling to find out the reality and ways to win this perennial war. This fight is going within every 100 crores, individual. To resolve this, some supreme soul like Krishna is giving us the true knowledge and showing what is truth.  This explanation made much more sense to me.

To understand the fundamental and the reason for existence for such mythology we now will move to explanation of religion from Vedanta philosophy. It described that every religion is made up of three parts- philosophies which explain the basic principles such as do not do bad things, second is mythology that helps in reinforcing the philosophy with the help of stories such that idea remains there for longer times. This is for the general masses, who can not understand the philosophy and therefore, they can these principles with the help of underlying characters and stories. The third is a ritual, which further reinforces these core principles and attaches it with our daily lives.

This was the story I wanted to share with you all. It helped me in solving some of the complexity, which we are a part of. It also helped me looking at the reality with a particular framework to make more sense out of it.

There are multiple lessons I learned with the help of this incident.

-       Whatever we are seeing around has some explanation towards it.
-   Believe in the core philosophy of any religion and it is more or less same across the nations. Mythology and ceremonies change with time and highly depends on the particular way of life.
-  Have faith in yourself and explore yourself for eternal truths because mythology represents the complex world inside you

Overall developement

Hi all,

It's long since I have posted any post so here it is.

I have a hobby of observing people performing different tasks. Sometimes I watch them struggling with their physical health as most of my relatives are suffering from some disease and it does not  just stop with the relatives. In India, almost 80 percent of the people are suffering from some chronic disease. Diseases like diabetes, hypertension, high blood pressure and heart problems are ubiquitous in India but the good part is it we become habitual with all of these because we do not want to deal with it. It is predicted that by 2020 India will have more than 4.77 million deaths a year due to cardiovascular disease and 2.58 million deaths due to coronary heart diseases. Almost one out of 3 people is in the grip of tobacco consumption.

I would like to quote one of the statements from our Vedas that "This body is yours and it is our utmost responsibility to keep it fit".  Most of us make a hue and cry about pessimist situation of our society that they are not performing their duties very well. Let me tell you, my friends, society is not bad because of the bad people, it is bad because good people are doing nothing about it.

This was about the physical health and if we go one step beyond then there comes mental health. Mental health means desire to learn and apply them. It's a known and proven fact that healthy mind lies in a healthy body. Mental health means seeing a glass half full (optimistic attitude) not half empty(pessimist attitude) and always seek to what we can add in it through our effort. This failure can be seen through our indulgence in carnal desires and alcoholism as most of our youth is going in that direction without knowing the harmful effect of it. Its failure can also be seen as communal hatred, and insensitivity towards poor section our society.

If we move one more step further then it comes to spiritual health. Some of my friends argue it is totally a crap. Crap word is so frequent on our tongue that without knowing the matter carefully we use this word. I do not want to go deep in it. The lack of spiritual health can be seen as the falling level of brotherhood, lack of respect for our elders, and finest example is the apathy towards Delhi rape victim. As she was lying on the road in such inhumane conditions and no one was there to help her. I have heard that people passed by her without noticing her. Corruption can also be seen as a consequence of this. Spiritual health means performing your duty well just like Gandhi, Bose and many more did. It gives us strength to fight any odds, always believe in yourself and go through pain and misery for the gain of something big.

These were some of the hard pills to swallow but on the positive side, there are lots of things that are being done in order to rectify the situation. Through this blog, I want to highlight the need for all three physical, mental and spiritual health to make a man perfect and live his life with dignity and positive attitude and how one can contribute to society with his capabilities.

How to prepare for personal interview

Yesterday I attended a personal Interview workshop held by Bull’s Eye institute in order to give us the taste of it so it we will be aware about it. These are the main point are being discussed

Why PI??
1.       To understand the thought process.
2.       To judge the attitude
3.       To judge commitment

What area do they check??
There are 5 areas panellist usually takes into account
1.       Your past life
2.       Present
3.       Future
4.       Situation based question
5.       Behaviour skills.
In the rest of the text he discussed these points in detail.
..............................................................................................................
Introduce yourself
It is usually the 1st question that company asks.
So in order to answer this question you must have some point in the mind because your answer to this question will decide your further question.
1.       It must be sequenced
It means that you must talk about you in sequence like first you should talk about name, city, schooling, graduation, hobbies and then one special characteristic. In most of the time next question will be on the special characteristics. So it’s better to be prepared

2.       It must flow just like it is within you. He told us do a task
Take a A4 sheet and write your introduction on it and practice it thoroughly so that you must be fluent. It must take at least 1 min.

3.       In introduction part don’t include your strength and weakness.
.................................................................................................................
So after you are done with your introduction question will be on previously discussed 5 topics.

1.       past
It includes academics, work experience, strength, weakness, hobbies, family. In this section usually normal people go half prepared.

Acads
    Points to remember
1.       Reasonable working knowledge in all the subject you studies in your B.tech courses and deep knowledge about your favourite subject.
2.         Talk in bullets and examples because it will be lucid.
Extra curricular
You should give example of question asked in this portion with situation that you faced while     doing extracurricular activities.
1.       Example of any failure situation
2.       Example of leadership skills

Hobbies/Interest
The main difference is hobbies are those which you are thinking of 24/7 when you are free and Interest means activities to get relaxed.

And you must have knowledge about your hobbies.

Strength/ weakness
Normally asked questions are how you overcome those weaknesses.
For example you can start with something like this:  I do have 100 of weaknesses but right now I can think of one because I am currently working on it.

2. Present
You must be aware about what’s going in your surroundings. Previous part discussed about how much you know yourself and this part give emphasize on how aware are you about your surroundings.
You must have answer about why you are applying for the job.
So in order to do it you must have general knowledge. In order to increase your general knowledge newspaper is must. He told us to spend at least half hour on reading and I am not talking about Hollywood pageJ.
 3.  Future (goals)
There is difference between goals and dreams. Goals have to be SMART ( specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bounded).
Please be clear on your goals otherwise it will suck in the interview. Be definite that what you want to at that time and it must be visible that you have properly planned it.
4.  Situational based questions
Situational based question based on variety of ranges like what you will do to increase tourism    to your city.  These are question to test that how fast you can thought of answers.

5.  Behavioural skills
It tests the body language, eye contact, gestures.
1.       You should make eye contact with him
2.       Sit straight with straight spinal cord without crossing your legs(for boys).
3.       Dnt take your gestures(hand movement) beyond your body perimeter.
In order to practise it you should start today. Try to talk with person with eye contact whether with you friend or any new person. It will give you confidence.
................................................
Note:  there are some stress interviews also in which they will make you angry with some dumb question because they want to see your reaction in various circumstances.

Thank you and best of luck J

11/5/2012 :)

Today I felt great When my buaji told me that I was waiting for you outside of your PG in the morning and wanted to meet you because of an intense feeling. I told buaji that " you made my day and I got a topic to write something which was in my mind from past many day".

All of us search pure love from our parents, elders, lovers or may be from any acquaintances in this hectic or we can say in this stressed life. I really find myself fortune in this area. Today after having talk with my buaji some other things also happened after it and I found that it too was connected with the topic which was in my mind. First one is my school friend, who gave me so much importance and show excessive care for me that I do have to make efforts to not to fall :) and another too is my school friend to whom I do care and concerned about her and she didn't give me importance at all but she too thinks that I am rude which I don't know yet so I told her I need some time to figure this out and till then bye.

After these two events, more precisely two realizations, I got this picture clear in my head that usually man do not give importance to the love they get from their parents or there loved once and searches for love from outside persons and thinks that they will understand him or her. I see this picture as , all the love need to fuel up your life is around you and you just need the eyes to realize it.

So this post is for all the loved once who made my life worthwhile.. :)

Hold on for a week...

well finally i got time for my 3rd post in the blog...

This is too for someone who also told me to maintain her anonymity. :)

well you know why I ceased talking to you, Its not because I want separation from you, definitely not due to I am fed up with you and its also not due to I am busy. Its because of, from my past experience that these relationship is not going to hold for long and that's what I don't want. There were incidence in life where I talked to a person and we are friends but we never met. Friendship started on the phone or facebook and ended with it. Friendship means from my perspective is to actually meet and spent some fun time including beer :).
Don't think I was wrong and you are of no value to me. It's the other way around, I have it but I don't show it. You are one of the nice girl I ever met, really and I mean it. One of the reason I like you that's because of your doing hard work, and not wandering out here and there doing nothing. I want you to succeed. From past several days I was not performing as per my potential and one of the reason was, I think, I used to spent much of time in studies and talking electronically( via fb or texting) and later after having bad performances I found out the very reason for my problem that is I am not living really in this world and my life is monotonous. There is a quote " if you want to know the real brotherhood and love, start living in this world". This week was very good for me. although every message that I got in this week was from other friends which I wishes to be your's:). and I hoped its good for you too. I experienced that my day span increased and my performance is increasing and I am involving with my friends and we got time to rethink about each other. It's good I think. If you Just hold on for a second and think you got to know, we use to dream to much and we also love it. Its doesn't matter to us the person just a few centimetre, what he is doing but what matters is that what other person is texting. You remember, we used to cry on that in the mega-cities the very neighbours don't talk to much and have nothing to do between then and our condition are better in our colony. we have lots of person around us to love, to care and to play with. The same thing we are doing and I needed this week time to figure out what is wrong and what is right. This is what I come up with.

Self Control

"Self restraint is manifest of great power than all outgoing action"  - Swami Vivekananda

Last night i was in chandigarh at my buaji's home.At night, after dinner she was telling me about how our generation is indulging towards diminishing moral values, carnal desires, excess control of our body on our mind etc  etc.
She is a religious women whom I really respect a lot and listen to every word that comes out from her  . She told me "beta, all the activities your generation find amusing right now, will make you suffer  in the long run." I understood that what she was pointing to the ongoing trend of how young boys and girls fall in love every week just for the sake of fun( Its Just from my vintage point) . Even I too feel the same. This discussion ended shortly because she had to do her night prayers, in which i am not kind of interested.

While sleeping i was pondering over it and ended up with the conclusion that-yes she is right and what the heck i am doing. Just chatting with my frnds which is of no use, Showing excessive care for someone which i do not  mean (frankly speaking) and pretending to be someone else which i am not and i am sure all of us do like this.
then i remembered one of the lectures given by swami vivekanand that the goal of mankind is knowledge, not pleasure because it comes to an end. It is a mistake to suppose that pleasure is the goal. The cause of all the miseries we have in the world is that man foolishly think pleasure to be the ultimate thing to strive for. After a man finds that it is not happiness, but knowledge, towards which he is going, and that both pleasure and pain are the great teacher. This world is a like a gymnasium where we have to make ourself stronger and stronger.

Most of us cannot see beyond a few years just as animals cannot see beyond a few steps. Just a little narrow circle -that is our world. We do not have the patience to look beyond, and thus become immoral and wicked. This is our weakness, our powerlessness.

Thats what i concluded and decided i will be true to myself, no matter what happens to me and there is a long way to go.

the beauty of dreams- i love it

Last night i was chatting with my friend (she told me to maintain her anonymity).  she is a nice combination of  two conflicting personality- serene and naive like an affectionate child on one side and on the other side quite emotional and sensitive one. actually i haven't understood her completely but i suppose it will not take too long.

while chatting with her i was also going through her facebook profile and in the midst of our conversation i asked her, "why don't you change your profile pic" because that was a pic of  a gloomy doll and this gloominess was also reflecting in the conversation. she had recently gone through some relationship trauma. i suggested her a fuzzy rocking pic like one of katrina kaif from "mere brother ki dulhan" which was wandering in my mind and would perfectly suit her eccentric personality.

but she told me she is not photogenic. but i ain't a kind of a person who gives up so easily. going through really tiring job i finally succeeded in persuading her. :)

it was approx 3 am, and yesterday was a bit arduous day for me. so i fell asleep during our conversation (obviously i didn't want to :-) )

i woke up in the morning and it was kind of shock. i found out a stunning pic of her on my laptop, which i had forgot to shut down while sleeping. she was really looking impeccably dressed what i had imagined but that was just an ephemeral happiness. damn i was dreeeeeeeemngggg.

when i really woke up there was nothing :-(

i picked my cell phone at that very moment and texted her "" *name* i had a dream of urs that u changed your profile pic and you were in green kurata and blue jeans ( all grls looks hot in this combination so she was looking too .:-) sry sry **name** ... she hate this "hot" word... sry for using this  .. i cant control it).

she said "aacha" in her soothing tone. i said "haan or kya majak kar rha hu".

this conversation ended shortly because i was running late for my breakfast and last night too i had missed my dinner while i was talking to her on phone. so i was hungry and she also had her errands to run.

at around 11 am she uploaded her pic but damn my badddd luck again i was in the class and i intentionally kept my cell phone in my room so that it couldn't able to divert me otherwise half of the concentration is usually disturbed by it. she texted me and told me its just for 15 min, you better look at it as soon as possible i do have to remove it.

i saw her message around 4pm and replied her " sry.. i was in the class and can u upload it now". she didn't replied. I again sent her message " are u there i am waiting for you". she replied " keep waiting.. i waited for you 1 hour..". i really enjoy her innocent and transparent attitude like a child, so did this time. its really fun to watch her like this and fun gets exaggerated when i argue with her in this mood. :-)

i again replied "sry yar.. maaf kar de". she didn't replied. [ close chat]

after the dinner at 10pm i texted again " ki abhi tak naraj hai" and she replied " yes".

i replied " ghatiya hai tu bdi". then again vo naraj ho gyi and we had some arguments. again [close chat]

after half hour i looked at her wall and i was smiling by looking at her spellbinding, arresting, captivating and lotss of nice adjectives.... pic. I was really dazzled by her charm and good look in that pic. she was in sari. i immediately texted her " looking really good :-)" she didn't replied and i speculated she was angry at me.

i again replied in nice way " naraj hai kya.. and told her i was sry and i will give u compensation for that".

she replied " mujhe neend aa rhi hai... gd nyt bbye ".

i dnt knw now what she is thinking right now.. time is approx now around 11:30 pm.. she is sleeping now and she removed her picture too. but u knw smart people i downloaded it :-)

............................................................the end ...................................................

dedicated to **name** :-)

this is as a compensation-my first post in blog.

hope u enjoyed it
